Your quiz answers: your company name and website if you give them, your industry, the customer and competitor names and websites you type, and what you most want to know first. They are kept in your browser for the visit and in the address of your package page, so a reload or a shared link keeps them.

Your work email, if you ask for your price. We send you one email with your brief and your package, and a copy comes to our own inbox.

Your booking details, if you book a call. Cal.com collects the name, email and notes you enter. The notes carry your package and the company names from your answers, so the call can start from them.

Usage data. PostHog records which pages you view, the buttons you click, named steps such as finishing the quiz (counts and choices, never the names you type), and recordings of the session with every form field masked. A recording can still show company names the page displays back to you, such as on your package page. Vercel Web Analytics counts page views and Vercel Speed Insights measures page speed.

Your IP address reaches our server with every request. Our code holds it in memory for a short time to limit how many requests one address can send, and does not write it to any file or database. Vercel, our host, keeps its own request logs.

To build your free preview from public records, to send the email you ask for, and to prepare the call if you book one. Usage data helps us see where the site works and where it does not.

To build the preview, the company names you type are sent as search terms to public sources: EPA ECHO, openFDA, the Federal Register and USAspending. SEC matching happens on our server against the SEC's public list of filers. To suggest a website, a name you type goes to Clearbit's company autocomplete. When you confirm a website, our crawler DataJockeyBot reads that site's public pages and obeys its robots.txt.

Vercel hosts the site and runs Web Analytics and Speed Insights.

Resend sends the email with your brief and price.

Cal.com runs the booking calendar.

PostHog runs our product analytics and session recordings.

Vercel AI Gateway and Anthropic can write the one line under each preview item that says what to check. When that is turned on, they receive only the public record text for that item, such as a filing title, an agency, a plant name and a date. They never receive your email address.

We never sell or share your list of customers and competitors, and we never sell your email address.

The site has no database. Quiz answers stay in your browser until you close the tab, and the address of your package page stays in your browser history. The copy of your email stays in our inbox until you ask us to delete it. Cal.com, PostHog and Vercel keep their records under their own retention settings.

To ask what we hold about you, or to have it deleted, write hello@datajockey.us from the address you used. We delete the email copy in our inbox and your booking, and we ask PostHog to delete any recordings we can tie to you.

When what the site collects changes, we update this page and its effective date.
